The fifth grade traveled back in time to the Civil War and enjoyed breakfast on Friday. Students became characters from the historical fiction books they had been reading. These characters interacted while enjoying some tasty vittles!

I was wondering about the dress code for tomorrow at the beach. Do girls have to wear one pieces?

Since swimming is not allowed, you don’t need to worry too much about bathing suits…shorts and a T-Shirt are probably more appropriate. But, if you are wearing a bathing suit, yes a one piece would be best. Hope for good weather… :)

Civil war night was so much fun. I loved the breakfast but I still liked it dark at night. It felt like we really were runaway slaves! The Bounty Hunters were extremely funny! (Charley Horse and and big sucker were our group leaders) I loved it when I was able to creep around in the dark when the Bounties weren’t looking. I do wish that even if we were frozen the Bounty Hunters could find us because we could have just been standing in the open and still being quiet and not moving and the Bounty Hunters couldn’t find us. That made it less old-fashioned. Everything else was great and I had a lot of fun at Civil War Night. Thanks For the great experience!

It was really fun listening to all the stories that the characters had to share. The food was delicious.
