Students in 5th grade have been receiving Civil War news through dispatches that arrive unexpectedly during the day. Students need to be prepared to record this information and use the facts they learn to write to their Civil War “pen pal”. The letters they exchange are filled with information about the war and their characters.

I really enjoyed the dispatches. That was a fun way to learn about the Civil War and important events. Everyone who did one was very good at acting and clearly included information in an organized way!!!!!
