On Wednesday students ventured out to the Nature Trail. Students put their trust in their classmates as they tried a “trust fall”. Students chose whether or not they wanted to participate in the activity. Most students took the challenge, but all participated in catching their classmates! We discussed how it felt and how the activity applied to school, learning and life.

Students began a project in math where they design and create their own sugar cube house. Rough draft plans were submitted for approval and this week students will be completing final draft plans and beginning construction. How does this relate to math? Requirements that must be met within the project are: a perimeter of 20-26 inches, a wall height that does not exceed 4 inches, two lines of symmetry, two patterns, a roof with an angle of 30 – 70 degrees and this must all be completed within their “budget”. Students are looking forward to planning out how they will decorate their houses with candies! Keep checking the site for updates!
